RSVP reader explained
RSVP stands for Rapid Serial Visual Presentation. Instead of moving your eyes across lines, words appear one after another at a fixed point on the screen.
Why fixed position matters
Traditional screen reading requires constant eye movement. The eyes scan left to right, jump to the next line, and recover position after distractions. RSVP removes much of that physical movement by keeping the focal point stable.
Why ORP highlighting helps
Many speed reading systems highlight the optimal recognition point, often a character near the early middle of the word. This gives the eye a reliable anchor so recognition can happen faster and with less visual searching.
When RSVP works best
RSVP is useful for focused passages, articles, revision material, and documents where the reader wants momentum. It is less useful when a reader must compare tables, inspect diagrams, or move back and forth between references.
How to use it in Manovex
Open a sample or upload a document, press play, and adjust WPM. Use slower speeds for dense material and higher speeds for familiar or lighter text. If comprehension drops, reduce speed and use the quiz tools after the session.
Use RSVP on your own documents
Manovex Pro unlocks PDF, EPUB, article, and text uploads for the same focused reader.
